uncltr Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

uncltr (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, password, display name, profile photo and time zone.
  • Calendar and Task Data: When you create or import events, we collect titles, descriptions, locations, times, categories, notes, deadlines and other details about your work shifts, classes, assignments, meetings or personal events. If you connect your Google Calendar, we collect information from your selected sub-calendars and apply keyword rules you define to categorize events.
  • Voice and Text Inputs: If you use the assistant feature, we collect the text you type and may process your voice recordings to transcribe your commands. Voice data is processed using speech recognition services and may be temporarily stored for transcription and processing.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you access and use the Service, such as the type of device and browser you use, your interaction with features (e.g. Pomodoro settings, notifications), session duration and other diagnostic data.
  • Cookies and Local Storage: We use cookies and local storage technologies to store session tokens, preferences, events and tasks. In guest mode, your data resides only in local storage and is cleared after a period of inactivity.
  • Third-Party Data: When you authorize third-party services (such as Google Calendar, Spotify or RSS feeds), we receive the information they provide according to your settings. We may also collect content for our recommendations feed from publicly available RSS feeds.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service, personalize your dashboard, display upcoming events, generate daily briefs and offer suggested study or focus blocks.
  • To synchronize with third-party calendars and save events created through the Service back to your calendars.
  • To process natural-language and voice inputs to create tasks and events.
  • To enable notifications and reminders about shifts, assignments, exams, important events and Pomodoro timers.
  • To provide recommended articles or videos from curated sources and allow you to save or hide recommendations.
  • To analyze usage trends and improve the Service’s functionality, performance and user experience.
  • To communicate with you about updates, changes to our policies, security alerts and administrative messages.
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues or misconduct.

4. How We Use Google Calendar Data

When you connect your Google account, uncltr uses Google Calendar access strictly to power the calendar features inside the dashboard:

  • Display your upcoming calendar events inside uncltr.
  • Classify events as work, university, personal, fitness, or deadlines using rules you control.
  • Allow you to create new calendar events from inside uncltr.
  • Help you plan Pomodoro focus blocks around your existing schedule.

uncltr does not use Google Calendar data to train AI/ML models, does not transfer it to third parties for advertising, and does not allow humans to read it except where required for security, legal compliance, or with your explicit permission.

5. Sharing Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:

  • Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, authentication, speech recognition and cloud storage providers who process data on our behalf and are obligated to protect it.
  • Third-Party Integrations: When you connect Google Calendar, Spotify or similar services, we share only the data required to enable that integration.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
  • Aggregated Data: We may share anonymized data that cannot be used to identify you.

6. Data Storage and Security

Account data and synchronized content may be stored on our secure servers or those of our cloud providers. In guest mode, data is stored locally on your device and deleted automatically after a period of inactivity. We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • Account Settings: Update your profile, time zone, Pomodoro durations, appearance, notification and calendar preferences from Settings.
  • Disconnect Google Calendar: Open Integrations inside uncltr and disconnect Google Calendar at any time. You may also revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.
  • Data Export and Deletion: Export your local data as a CSV file or delete all local data from the Data settings. To delete account data stored on our servers, email support@uncltr.app.
  • Notifications: Enable or disable reminders from the Notifications settings.
  • Cookies: Manage cookies in your browser; some features may not work if you disable them.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us information so we can delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

10. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. Guest data is automatically cleared after a period of inactivity. Deleting your account removes your personal information from active systems; some data may persist in backups for a limited time.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted to this page.
